...making jewelry.

At the moment, I seem to be spending every waking minute that I'm not at work (which admittedly, is not enough considering I've been working every weekend..ugh!), at my jewelry bench. I'm sawing and soldering and generally just making a big mess, but I've been fairly happy with the results.

I'm obsessed with a large loop necklace I recently made:


All of the loops are somewhat oval and hand-forged, purposely not perfect. In case you somehow thought I'd overcome my anal, perfectionist tendencies! (EDITED TO ADD: perfectionist and anal, you dirty dirty minds)

AND.... I finally put up a little shop on Etsy, in the hopes that perhaps I can make a little money to buy ~more~ supplies and materials. It's probably a good thing I have limited space, because otherwise, I'd probably be out of control!

You probably don't, and I can't blame you, since it's been approximately 24 million years since I last posted. Alas, I've been doing other things. Sorry.

However, I have pictures to temporarily distract you from my lack o' posting.

I chose John, by youngest brother-in-law, in this years Christmas draw, and fretted for weeks about what I was going to get him. He is ridiculously creative with his gift giving, so I didn't want to let him down, but all he had to offer as a suggestion was something about buying him a loft in Manhattan. Which doesn't exactly fit the constraints of our family not-so-secret Santa gift exchange. About a week before Christmas, he finally tells me he wants jewelry. If anyone else asked, I'd be flattered. With John, I was terrified. He goes to DESIGN SCHOOL. He's becoming a fashion designer. He spends 24 hours a day with people ooooozing creativity. Shit. After much deliberation, I just started cranking things out. Some of which I now don't like very much, but some of which I love. All of which were packaged in specimen jars and given to him for Christmas. Behold, my faves:
